Perfect - comfortable, friendly, beautiful location, fantastic food, and lovely pool. It was just what we wanted - unpretentious but very comfortable, all beautifully re-furbished, and we loved the pool. And the food was really special. Likes: All the above - and the family atmosphere (hotel has been in the same caring family for over 30 years and this makes it intimate and especially welcoming); and location - Blackpool Sands is beautiful - Dislikes: None! Another fabulous short break in beautiful Devon. This is our third visit and we have always had a lovely time. The standard of food is amazing and the staff are very friendly. Likes: Everything! Dislikes: No! 13 of us were here for NYE. We had a fantastic evening, the food was incredible & my boyfriend proposed to me, making the whole evening so special. Thank you Stoke Lodge! Bed really comfortable, staff friendly and very helpful. Especially pleased that the hotel staff were able to book us a taxi with access to the Royal Naval College and return. Really warm welcome, homely hotel. Beautifully decorated and furnished. Food excellent. We spent last night here, a Bridal party with make-up, hairdressers and photographers all arriving at 6 am the following morning. The staff could not have been any friendlier or more helpful. Thank you so much for making our special occasion even more special. You all could not have tried any harder for us all.
Beautiful setting, lovely rooms and yummy breakfast x Lovely place, very friendly, great beds fantastic breakfast, stayed there before will be back thanks. Just back from a lovely overnight stay and thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the hotel. Professional staff, beautifully maintained and gorgeous views. Facilities great and would happily stay again. Thank you! Me and my Wife stay here every year August 12th as it's our wedding anniversary! We were greeted with 2 bottles of prosecco on ice and a lovely card from all the staff!
Fantastic food and the staff are so friendly! See you 12-08-2018! Absolutely fantastic family run hotel with superb cooked to order breakfast! Plus indoor and outdoor pool. Would recommend it and we shall definitely be going back! Amazing! Third time here and it's because the staff are so friendly and it’s close to everything we like, the beach and Dartmouth. Also good quality reasonably priced food. I had the Crab Salad for dinner and it was so fresh and delicious!
Excellent location, friendly people. I booked online five minutes before arrival and the room was available immediately, with friendly, welcoming staff. Superb facilities! We were amazed at all the facilities offered by Stoke Lodge.
There is lots of outside seating space and inside several different lounge areas. The large swimming pool was lovely and clean. This is an excellent place to stay as a couple or a family. Our beds were very comfortable and it was very quiet, lovely. We didn't have dinner but the menu looked very good and there was plenty on offer for breakfast. We have already recommended it to friends. Fantastic family run hotel. The food is top quality. You will not find a better place to stay in the Dartmouth area.
Excellent! Spotless, great friendly service, piping hot breakfast - can't fault the whole experience. Stayed this weekend, warm welcome and room spotless, spacious and extremely comfortable. I was with a group of four down for a diving weekend and we all enjoyed the stay, brilliant facilities which we didn't get the time to enjoy but I will be back with my wife in the future. The proprietor got us out of a real fix on Sunday when there were no taxis available because of the music festival and saved the day by giving us a lift to the harbour on Sunday morning!

I really liked this place - the staff were helpful and friendly and clearly enjoyed their jobs. Would recommend. Just had a great stay with the West Dorset Ramblers group. Comfortable room, very friendly and helpful management and staff ... nice spa suite with indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna ... and the food was excellent. Being vegan usually means a limited choice of mediocre meals in a hotel, but the Stoke Lodge provided a separate vegan menu with plenty of choices all of which were delicious! Top marks. This place takes some beating for meeting customer needs. Having already gone out of their way to accommodate cake and table decorations for a birthday celebration, they then went above and beyond to help when my small granddaughter was taken ill and emergency services had to be called. It may be a little dated decor wise, but the good and customer care are both top notch! Devon escape! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - our room was spacious, very comfortable with sea view. The staff gave great service & very friendly. The food was excellent. It was a pleasant surprise for *** star hotel. Good all-round hotel - stayed for Dartmouth Food Festival. The hotel is set in glorious countryside, and is family run - doesn't feel at all corporate, and staff seemed genuinely pleased to see you. Would have been nice to have seen more local food offer at breakfast, but all in all I would happily return. Good value for this part of the world.
